Job Description:

Objective

BIM Technicians use hardware and software technology to support preconstruction to the final completion of a project. Technicians maintain all documents to ensure that the project is completed effectively within cost, schedule, and quality parameters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Prepare plans, layouts, assembly drawings, and details for plumbing/mechanical building design using BIM content standards and procedures

·         Prepare and maintain fabrication drawing packages to ensure accuracy and adhere to company standards

·         Prepare total station files to be used for field layout

·         Assist in modeling content for pre-construction

·         Assist with the job setup of a new project

·         Assist with the printing, plotting, copying, and filing of documents for record

·         Assist with a wide range of other detailing tasks

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Working knowledge of Revit

·         Knowledge of Autodesk Fabrication CADMep, Navisworks Manage, and Revit are preferred

·         Effective written and verbal communication skills, both professional and interpersonal

·         The ability to work both independently and within a team

·         A responsible, organized, and detail-oriented mindset

·         Refined time management skills and the ability to multi-task

·         Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills, in addition to strong math and science skills

Work Environment Considerations

·         Must be able to work in high-pressure situations facing strict deadlines

·         Most hours will be in the office, but some trips to job sites and customer locations are required

·         Must be familiar with job site safety requirements and be prepared to wear a hardhat, work boots, and safety glasses at potentially hazardous job site

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·         Associate Degree in Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent preferred
