Job Description:

Burkhead Electric is seeking licensed Electricians (Residential Journeyman, Journeyman, or Master levels) to join a diverse team who are customer-focused and quality-driven. We provide electrical services and support in a variety of environments for customers who require the attention to the details, craftsman level preceision,  accurate installations, and bring forward innovative solutions. 

Electricians for Burkhead Electric are responsible for the following:

• Install electrical systems that meet the needs and desires of the customer, ensuring safety, compliance, and integrity of the system.
• Assist with designing and integrating solutions to fulfill the project goals and intentions. 
• Troubleshoot and test electrical systems using various tools to determine the source of concern. Resolve concern by repairing as required to ensure the safety, compliance and integrity of the system involved.
• Educate and develop apprentices on proper installation  methods, use and application of codes and regulations, professional work ethics, and documentation and communication practices.
• Determine the proper operating process of completing a project within the established timeline using prject resources including blueprints, spec. sheets, etc.
• Follow company standards in all projects regarding proper labeling, torquing, and installation practices. 
• Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and fleet to coinside with company standards. 
• Document project information such as changes, updates, timelines, scheduling updates, status, etc. through written logs and pictures. 
• Promote a safe working environment by adhereing to company rules, laws, compliance standards, and other relevant regulations. 
• Maintain a clean and organized job site, vehicles/trailers, materials, and equipment.
• Read, Interpret and Utilize blueprints, diagrams, spec sheets, and other resources to complete project goals and install products as directed/intended.
• Comply with all NEC Code, local/federal laws, compliance and safety regulations, and company standards.
• Advocate for the customer by educating and communicating project process, product information, and project status.

Required Experience:

The following conditions must be met to be eligible for hire:

• Have a High School or GED Diploma.
• An active electrical license in the state of Iowa for either a Residential Wireman, Residential Journeyman, Journeyman A or B, or Master Electrician. 
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Perform and meet the physical demands of the work including sitting/standing/walking for long periods of time, push/pull/lift items ranging from 15 - 50 lbs., bending/kneeling/squatting, working overhead, climbing ladders of various heights and styles, and more.
• At least 4 years of experience in the electrical trade.

Required Travel:

Burkhead Electric serves the Greater Des Moines area and surrounding communities in an 50-mile average radius.

Travel is typically same day but should greater travel be required, accomodations will be arranged on a case-by-case basis.
