The Coax Splicing Technician establishes communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Ability to cold splice overhead and underground coaxial cable

· Cut and prepare coaxial cable prior to splicing and prepare electronics

· Ensure that all needed tools and equipment are available at the jobsite

· Work from engineered blueprints

· Keep track of production

· Complete daily production reports

· Mark-up maps, track work hours and complete "as-built maps" for areas built

· Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts

· Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations

Requirements : Valid Driver’s License Experience:

· Valid Driver’s License

· Ability to climb a ladder and utilize a bucket truck

· 1-2 years of telecommunication construction experience and coax splicing

· Ability to read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams for project build process

Soft Skills:

· Highly organized and detail orientated

· Independent self-starter

· Ability to detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

· Ability to comprehend, process and apply both verbal and written skills appropriate to the job

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing

· Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces

· May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

· Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather

· Ability to climb and work at elevations (e. g. from ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet

· Ability to work in confined spaces (e. g. attics, crawl spaces, utility holes)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Grimes, IA 50111: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
