The Weitz Company is seeking applications for a Human Resources Administrator. This role will provide support to the human resources team in the various functional areas of human resources (HR) while providing a high level of internal customer service.

What You’ll Do:

This position will maintain personnel records and HR documents, update internal databases, serve as a first contact for many HR-related employee inquiries and provide assistance with various HR initiatives. Other responsibilities may include:

  • Maintain employee personnel files via electronic scanning; track compliance and purging requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist with various employee initiatives to include employee relocations, unemployment claims, performance management process, internship program, onboarding program, etc.
  • Maintain and update HRIS as needed (i.e. supervisor relationships, employee changes, onboarding/offboarding)
  • Post job openings in applicant tracking system (ATS) and external marketing resources, as requested
  • Track and audit salaried employee I-9 forms and e-verify completion; ensure forms are compliant with USCIS guidelines and store appropriately
  • Assist with pre-employment process, to include: screen resumes, schedule phone screens and panel interviews, initiate and track background check and pre-employment screenings
  • Track employee completion of annual compliance training, annual performance reviews, open enrollment and new employee onboarding tasks
  • Serve as a resource to business unit HR Coordinators for HR-related process questions
  • Maintain the human resources shared e-mail box; ensure employee inquiries receive timely responses; escalate to appropriate individuals when needed
  • Update human resources content on company intranet
  • Maintain and update the human resources shared workflow spreadsheets
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: A business-related bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Previous internship experience in a human resources role is preferred.
  • Skills: A qualified candidate will demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and customer service, initiative, independent judgment and organizational skills. They should also demonstrate attention to detail, verbal and written communication, with the flexibility to coordinate multiple projects. 
  • Technology: Proficiency in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel); familiarity with PDF writer is preferred. Candidate must also be able to learn company-specific software (i.e. HRIS, ATS, electronic personnel file management system).
