Construction Accountant and Human Resource Manager Job Description

The job of a construction accountant is to keep track of the ongoing expenditures of a construction project and the business as a whole. A construction accountant has to check daily expenditure, prepare monthly project reports, and work in collaboration with all KCS employees, subcontractors, and customers.

Accounting Duties and Responsibilities

·        Communicate with project managers and superintendents to understand the plan of the building

·        Monitor expenses

·        File invoices and bills

·        Manage Loans

·        Communicate with lending bodies to explain financial requirements of the project

·        Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss, and other reports as needed

·        Ensure Payroll is accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.

·        Provide input for project report preparation

·        Verify bills and purchase sheets with project managers to ensure job costs are accurately recorded

·        Must be very prompt and ensue that deadlines are met

·        Ensure all equipment costs are being properly recorded

Other Responsibilities

·         Ensure all employees’ benefits are managed properly

·         Verify information of new applicants, make reference calls, may be asked to assist with interviews

·         Ensure all new employee forms are filled out and verified

·         Manage employee information

Skills and Specifications

·        Excellent communication and writing skills

·        Excellent skills with numbers and accounts

·        A strong knowledge about various aspects of the construction project

·        Must be precise and meticulous in the job

·        Should be organized and maintain high efficiency in work

·        Ability to maintain good relationships with lending bodies such as banks

·        Must have a strong knowledge regarding computer applications and software related to accounting

·        Ability to visit the construction site to check out expenses

Required Experience:
