Join our Employee-Owned Comapny as a Construction Framer/Metal Panel Installer for SGH Concepts, a division of SGH Redglaze Holdings, Inc. This positiion is out of Des Moines, IA and will perform tasks involving physical labor at medium to heavy construction projects.
The Metal Panel Installer perfoms tasks involving physical labor at medium to heavy construction projects. The installer is responsible for assisting with the designing and installation of architectural panels comprised of different materials including phenolic, steel, aluminum and cementitious type panels.
Essential Functions: Preparing the layout of the project. Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions. Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors. Join materials with nails, screws, rivets, or adhesives. Use levels, rulers, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure. Perform manual work in preparing substrates for panel coverage. Perofrm a variety of tasks involving strenous manual labor, dealing with heavier metal panel construction projects. House cleaning job site: pick up all tools and equipment each day to eliminate potential hazards and theft. Perform material handling and storage. Load/unload trucks, haul/hoists material. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and brings problems to the attention of the foreman/superintendent. Workingin Ariel equpment up to 120', working on ladders and the rooftops of buildings. Communicate wtih Foreman on project details. Must be able to wear required PPE at all times. Performs work in accordance with job specifications and safety. Attends all safety meetings. Strong work ethic.
Work environment: Safety procedures int he work environment will be exercised at all times. While performing the duties of this position you may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles on job sites, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The position is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather: Heat and humidity, cold temperatures, snow, rain and exposure to dust and debris. Occasionaly this position will require long hours and possible Saturday work otherwise mostly days: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Required Experience:
Passing a pre-employment drug screening- required. Passing a phusical capabilities test - required. Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Physical Demands: The physical demands describes here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb and stand for extended periods of time as well as perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects. Can use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over tiem without fatigue. Excellent physical stamina is a plus
Preferred experience of 1 + years of jobsite/construction experience
Knowledge of teools, practices and procedures working with Sheet Metal
Reading blueprints: 1 year experience required
Must have reliable transportation to and from the job sites
Be safety minded and drug free
Ability to use a Computer, iPad or Tablet
Leadership Skills
Basic reading, writing and math skills
Passing a pre-employment drug screening
Passing a physical capabilities test
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Knowledge and experience within the Metal Panel industry
Forklift Certification
OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
1st Aid/CPR Certification
Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
Multiple years of comprehensive reading of multiple blueprints
Common knowledge of rigging and crane signals
Required Travel:
Travel may be required, locally or out of town, depending on job site needs.
