Join our Employee-Owned Company as a Construction Laborer for SGH Concepts, a divisin of SGH Redglaze Holdings, Inc. This position is based out of Des Moines, Iowa and will perform tasks involving physical labor at medium to heavy construction project sites. The Laborer will be guided by the lead installer on each project and is an entry level position with plenty of room for advancement with daily on the job training.
The Laborer may operate a variety of hand/power tools, clean and prepare sites, organize tools, utilize chop saws, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble/debris, as well as remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.
Safety procedures in the work environment will be exercised at all times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborn particles on job sites, moving machanical parts and vibration. The position is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites - the noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold temperatures, snow, rain and exposure to dust and debris. Occasionally this position will require long hours and possible Saturday work.

Join materials with nails, screws, rivets or adhesives
Use Levels, rulers and squares to ensure everything is level, plumb and secure
Preparing the layout of the project
Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor, dealing with heavier metal panel construction projects
House cleaning job site: picks up all tools and equpment to eliminate potential hazards and theft
Perform material handling and storage
Loads/unloads trucks, hauls/hoist materials
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and brings problems to the attention of the foreman/superintendent
Working in Ariel equipment up to 120', ladders, and on the rooftops of buildings
Communicate with Foreman on project details
Have general knowledge of basic hand and power toools
Performs work in accordance wtih job specificaitons and safety
Attends all safety meetings
Strong work ethic

Construction knowledge as well as knowledge of use of handtools. Some jobsite/commercial construction experience preferred. Must have reliable transportation to and from the job sites. Be Safety minded and drug free. Must be able to wear required PPE at all times. Basic reading, writing and math skills.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening - required
Passing a physical capabilities test - required
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Physical Demands: The physical demansd described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must be able to lift 50lbs., climb and stand for extended periods of time, as well as perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects
Can use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
Excellent physical stamina is a plus
Mostly days: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

What will put you ahead of other candidates: Knowledge and experience within the construction industry. Forklift Certification. OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30. 1st Aid/CPR Certification. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
