We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to work on our Infrastructure Team, in our Des Moines, IA Corporate office. Maintenance required after typical business hours will periodically be required.

Candidates Must Have:

  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Powershell and Group Policy in a multi-forest, multi-domain enterprise environment
  • Advanced administration of Windows Server, including DFS, DNS, DHCP, WSUS and Print Services
  • Working experience with identity and access management among multiple directories and cloud platforms (AD, Okta, SAML, ADFS, etc.)
  • Hardware and software deployment, user support and server management experience
  • Ability to quickly identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues

The Systems Administrator designs, configures, implements and maintains various systems, alongside advanced resources and/or IT management. This role focuses on the administration of assigned system(s), including technical support, vendor relationships and when needed, acts as a final escalation point for related support issues. Basic knowledge of the construction industry is helpful.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues; collaborate with selected vendors to resolve issues if necessary
  • Develop system schematics and execute approved plan, including: installation of hardware and software, configuration of applications and deployment to end client
  • Monitor system logs, user activity and system performance for trends; adjust services and configurations as necessary; identify system issues and resolve
  • Apply updates, patches and configuration changes to maintain systems with minimal disruption of service; establish test environments and thoroughly monitor prior to deployment
  • Recommend new equipment, software and services to enhance the user experience, reduce resources or build redundancy into system design
  • Manage and assist with multiple ongoing projects that may involve evaluating alternative options, gathering data and presenting reports for final decision-making
  • Create and maintain process documents and documents of all aspects of assigned system(s)
  • Maintain confidentiality; be attentive of social networking pitfalls where confidentiality could be leaked
  • Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
  • Business travel will be required

Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in an IT related field is required, with 3-5 years in Active Directory and Windows Server administration. Experience in a fast-paced business environment and exposure to LEAN principles is desirable.

  • Education: An associates degree in an IT related field is preferred. A combination of technical training and certifications may be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in an IT related field is required, with 3-5 years in Active Directory and Windows Server administration. Experience in a fast-paced business environment and exposure to LEAN principles is desirable.
  • Skills: Tact, project management, business acumen, independent judgment, problem solving, effective communication, attention to detail, discretion with sensitive and confidential information, adaptability, and prioritization abilities are all necessary skills for this role.
  • Technology: Proficiency with operating systems and basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Employee must have the ability to learn other specific software.
